Hello 2013, goodbye 2012

The New Year was a blast last night with celebration in every major cities in the world.

In New York, Millions fought the traffic to witness the ball drop at Time Square and in Kuala Lumpur, a blazing sky filled with fireworks blasted the city. 2013 is greeted with much hope and anticipation especially after the failed "Doomsday" prediction on the 21st of December, which was later pushed to 24th December.

The shows was fantastic with performance by Andrew Rayel at the KL Tower. With more and more international performers and dance, it was absolutely one of the best New Year party ever.

While there had been celebration around the world, we have to remember much have happen in 2012 as we bid it farewell.

We are still alive

It’s the 22nd December already. We are still alive. The prophecy of the Mayan has not come true.

5,125 years ago, the Mayan created a calendar system which is as accurate as the atomic clock. This system is known as the Mayan Long Calendar. However, the calendar ends on the 13th and the final Bakhun of the 5,125 year. That was yesterday. Many have predicted it to be the end of the world as it had been the end of the Mayan Long Calendar.

NASA has received thousands of emails and calls for the last few weeks enquiring the event. The questions they received ranged from planetary collision to Solar flares. However, NASA said that no such event is in the horizon. They’ve even came out with a video on this subject.

Another contender for the End of the World prophecy is by the famous Nostradamus in his quatrain “From the Calm Morning, the end will come When of the dancing horse the numbers of circles will be 9” he predicted in 1503.

Singapore beats Thailand 3 - 1

SINGAPORE - Radojko Avramovic's Lions are on the verge of creating regional football history after they defeated Thailand 3-1 in the first leg of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup final tonight.

Both sides are three-time winners of the biennial regional championship, but the Lions took a massive step forward towards a record fourth crown with their resounding victory in front of a packed Jalan Besar Stadium.

The result means that Thailand must win by at least 2-0 in the return leg in Bangkok on Saturday to claim the Cup on the away-goals rule.

However, judging from the way the Lions' defence held firm against the marauding Thais tonight, that may prove to be a tough challenge for Winfried Schafer's men.
